"1-509th ABCT Challenge Coin"

This military challenge coin design concept was envisioned by the artist, to act as both a memorial medallion and collectable coin to recognize a moment in the era of American military Cold War history of the only forward deployed U.S. airborne infantry unit in Europe during its 1973-83 time period and to honor its unit veterans, that served as part of NATO,s select (allided mobal forces) In Europe guarding the then frontiers of freedom in the west, all giving some and some giving all, so that over 400 million Europeans may live in peace, freedom and security today. This coins design was digitally refined in its design by the Northwest Mint Company. Its manufacture by the mint was fully sponsored by the 509th Parachute Infantry Association.
